"Nude Holding a Crystal Ball 1914-20", 30cm x 36cm, on Hahnemuhle German Photo Rag paper 308gsm.  The date of this picture is perplexing as it stretches over six years when much happened, including World War I. The lady was much portrayed by Spare in this period, and may be considered Spare's astral partner. Her hand is touched by a snake which encircles a kneeling figure with eye glyphs for arms and letters from the Alphabet of Desire upon her head:-sm. The f

 

 

There is an amorphous pigment shape, probably created automatically. It is reminiscent of a Rorsach Inkblot Test and can function in like manner. It is suggestive of magical gesture used by both Spare and Crowley
